Check out the excellent demo reel of Jeff Harrell over at The Shape of Days blog. It uses a track from Brian McCreary written for the first season finale of Battlestar Galactica. The images work extremely well with the music. It is a fine piece of art. Here are Jeff Harrells comments about the Brian McCreary track:
"The audio track is an original composition by composer Bear McCreary. He wrote it for the first-season finale of the TV show "Battlestar Galactica." I originally used it just as a temp track, but when I got the piece finished I thought it worked so well that I set out to secure the rights. I contacted Bear and showed him the clip, and he graciously gave me permission to use it in my reel, including providing me with the requisite legalese with which to credit it."
It sounds like Brian McCreary is a nice guy to let artists use his work like this.
