Are the Cylons Lutherans?
The Heinrich Show asks an interesting question:
In Battlestar Galactica, the humans have a religion that has many Gods. This chafes me a bit as a Lutheran, since the First Commandment is "I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me." However the Cylons have only ONE God, and they believe in him deeply...much like Lutherans do. And so I wonder, "Is Number Six a Lutheran?"
Well? Any Lutherans out there care to comment? I am still waiting for someone to compare the Cylon beliefs to Islam... I would, but I am not up on my Sufism.

The Cylons are not Lutherans. They have, you are correct, Islamic tendencies. They are a representation of the insurgents. They work from the inside, you never know who could be a "baddie"...maybe they brainwashed/replaced one of our own, maybe they were "baddies" all along. The whole Doral-suicide-bomb thing sticks out like a sore thumb. Also, bringing it back to my keystone theory, Lee sympathizes with Zareck, the ultimate human terrorist (but not a Cylon). If the Cylons were Lutheran, then instead of bombing the twelve colonies then hunting down the survivors, they probably would have come armed with pipe organs and the Book of Concord.
