Season 1 finale coming to a stream near you!

Look at what the fabulous Futon Critic is so fortuitously reporting:

In anticipation of 'Battlestar Galactica's second season premiere, SCIFI.COM will also begin streaming season one's action filled finale episode, "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II." Battlestar's series premiere episode, "33," has been viewed more than 100,000 times on the site -- the most successful streaming event in SCIFI.COM history.

Take THAT traditional media! Of course, they aren't streaming part one, so there are going to be some mighty confused people out there... but I give SciFi an "A" for effort. It's available now on the official site. Go get some.

What is this show of which you speak?

We have approached that point, a few weeks before the launch of season two, where the blog-o-sphere becomes full of people reaching out to others, hoping they will soon share in the joy that is our favorite show. One such person is Ken Brown who reminds us what Battlestar Galactica is, what makes it good, and why you should watch.

In a little over two weeks, my favorite show will begin its second season. Battlestar Galactica (produced by Ron Moore and David Eick) is what television should be---thought provoking, edgy, true to life where it counts but fueled by a fertile imagination and a talented cast and crew. Beginning Friday July 15 at 10/9C on the SciFi Channel, this is a show that unflinchingly confronts some of the toughest moral dilemmas in a way that is hugely entertaining, defies pat answers, and leaves an important place for the sacred and the spiritual.

5-Minute Battlestar Galactica: The Miniseries

I know it has been awhile since the mini-series, but this is fun stuff. It comes to you via me via Speak Stiltedly and Wear a Yellow Shirt via Jerie. It is a funny mini-recap of the Battlestar Galactica: Miniseries. Some choice sections include:

Baltar: It sure was generous of you to re-write my entire navigation program. I hope unlimited access to the entire Colonial defense mainframe was compensation enough.
Six: It was. And besides, God wanted me to help you.
Baltar: Which reminds me, He called earlier and left you a message. "Bang up job on the defense project," He said.
Six: I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Baltar: You're so cute when you pretend to be evil.

...and...

Apollo: Hello, Kara.
Starbuck: Hello, Lee.
Apollo: I brought you a present.
Starbuck: Is it angst? Please don't say it's angst.
Apollo: It's angst.
Starbuck: Rats.

Enjoy the fun!

Season 2 episode 10 details

Hollywood North Report brings us another fine article filled with season two episode spoilers:

HNR has been provided a few details about Battlestar Galactica's tenth episode for season two, "Pegasus," inspired by an episode of the original 1978 series, entitled "The Living Legend," which starred the late Lloyd Bridges...and we're told this new interpretation is a doozey!

Dive in to the spoiler madness

I wish I was a spoiler monkey like all you people who are about to click that link... you don't know how much it sucks posting links to all these stories that I cannot read.

Starbuck spills all

Wizard magazine has an interview with Katee Sackhoff the dives deep into season 2 details:

In Wizard #166 (on sale today), actress Katee Sackhoff, who plays Lt. Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on the hit SCI FI Channel series, “Battlestar Galactica,” spills some secrets on what to expect in season two, which kicks off on Friday, July 15. The show, a reimagining of the original series that aired in 1978, has fans buzzing for its dark and realistic telling of what some say is “the story of Exodus—set in space.”

We caught up with Sackhoff during a break in filming on the Vancouver set, and here’s what else she had to say.

Behind-the-Scenes with Helo

The Tahmoh Penikett Blog has what looks to be a fun behind the scenes chat with the man behind "The Helo":

HypaSpace interviewed Tahmoh and Grace Park on the set of BSG, "Grace Park & Tahmoh Penikett Talk BSG". HypaSpace is a news/info show produced by Space, Canada's sci-fi Channel.

You can see informal pics, the text of their interview and a cute clip of Grace and Tahmoh being silly. It's a must see.

Starbuck is Human And Flawed

The SyFy Portal has another spoiler ridden article up, discussing comments made by Katee Sackoff in the latest issue of TV Zone Magazine:

According to Katee Sackhoff, the character she plays on "Battlestar Galactica," Lieutenant Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, is one of the most flawed characters on the series. And the actress likes it that way.

It is one thing to be flawed, it is another thing to be destructive. I am interested to see how Starbuck falls out of favor with Adama after disobeying him. I hope they don't take it too far off the edge. I don't know why, but I hate seeing good characters ruin themselves. Sure, that definitely happens in "real life" but these people are also our heroes. I don't know how fun a show can be if all your hero's are ruining their lives.

But, I trust Moore... I am sure he will deliver.

Great BSG links from The Great Link

Chris Howell from The Great Link sent a few URLs my way. Check them out!
