A quick question for the producers, writers, webmasters over at the Official BSG website.
- Where is the podcast for episode 2.03 Fragged?
- Where are the deleted scenes for season 2 episodes?
- Where are the Ron Moore blog updates?
- Where are the video blog posts?
It is important to understand that if you are going to promise "Web 2.0" content that you have to deliver on it, otherwise the entire promise is a huge disappointment to the fans. I am already hearing some grumbling around the net that, although SciFi made an effort, they are not following through.
The blog, the podcast, all of your web content has become just as big of a part of the show as the show itself. That was one of the interesting and innovative things about BSG. It created an interactive experience for the fans. By not continuing it, you are essentially saying that the fan interaction that helped make the show popular is no longer important.
BSG set an example for other TV shows... please continue to set that example! Please?

I can't speak for the rest, but here is the video blog:

There are only two 'posts', but they're well ahead of the episodes that have aired (and I'm not sure I'd want to see one of them until after its corresponding episode)...
As for the Ron Moore blog & podcast, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure those are updated at his discretion. He's said once or twice how he has trouble getting around to doing the podcasts, so I figured he wasn't able to find the time this week. Disappointing, yes, but I think your blame of the webmasters may be a tad misplaced..

The whole point of "blogs" and "podcasts" is that they are frequently updated. Otherwise their timely relevance shrinks and their validity diminishes. What you also see is a snowball effect because if certain issues are not covered when they happen, they need to be covered later when a connection is needed... so instead of the blog posts and podcasts being timely, they are filled with attempts to summarize previous events. It then becomes difficult to discuss current information... especially in a linear show like BSG.
The online content might have been called discretionary, but it is evident that over last season, it evolved into something that compliments the experience of BSG. Last season's semi-continuous media praise about the innovative online content was a happy result of that.
I believe a certain expectation was set (more content, a video blog, etc) and I am simply observing that in my opinion, the expectation is currently unfulfilled.
