Battlestar Galactica: Resistance

It looks like the title of the web-only series is going to be called "Resistance". Brett J. emailed the information in with a link over to IGN:

The most exciting news on this front involved Battlestar Galactica, which airs on the NBC Universal owned Sci Fi Channel. Debuting later this year will be a Web series spin-off for the acclaimed series called Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance. Lasting ten episodes, The Resistance will fill in the gap between season two and the upcoming season three.

If it is filling the gap between season two and three, I wonder how much time we are talking here... It is going to be one crazy year for BSG.

...honestly I am still sitting here trying to figure out what the hell just happened on Lost... so my head really isn't in the game on these news items... :)

Is it just me or is Balthar starting to look a little like J.C. Could he be the one, as was mentioned in the last episode? Are all those paintings of a white Jesus actually accurate according to BSG? He will be the only human to recognize one God. Who else would you leave on Earth? He's brilliant. He has suffered mentally and physically beyond what humans truly know. Is it really that far a stretch that he is the man that put humanity on the path to Chrisitianity. I understand that Christianity, Judaism and other religions incorporate a single being into their beliefs, but if you listen to the cylons they talk about a forgiving God, an understanding and compassionate being, not a rathful old testement type. I don't know enough about religions in general but this kind of blew my mind. What if both the Cylons and humanity decided to leave Balthar behind? Is it possible that he became the messiah? God, according to Six, has always had a place for him. Could God actually be talking to him? Is that who comforted him through the pain of torture. His reaction to that episode may indicate so... Would it make sense to make the killer of all humanity its savior? Would the righteousness one man would gain be worth all those lives? Is it possible that belief and not body are what's important? Could God be punishing the humans and rewarding the Cylons? Would Balthar be committing penance by suffering as we have heard it. Will BSG become a biblical metaphor?
